Penny was rescued from a high-kill shelter as a young puppy, and her time there doesn't seem to have had a negative impact on her bubbly nature. She's generally delighted by life, and enthusiastically bounces through her days of exploring Muskoka and splash-splashing through every body of water along her path.
From the minute she met her foster sister, the 2 dogs have been inseparable. They share everything from their food to their beds. We'd love to see her in another home with an equally playful dog-sibling, but this is definitely not a requirement. Because being with another dog makes Penny feel part of a pack, she gets defensive when she sees other dogs on walks or out the window -- but when she's on her own, as a solo dog, she greets other dogs beautifully and is eager to play.
We suspect the spots on her feet may mean she has some heeler in her -- that would also explain those ears! -- and we think she'd love to have a job! She definitely likes to be active and included in whatever her people are doing. She's smart, eager to please and learn, and would thrive with consistent training. When she's gotten her ya-has out, there's nothing this affectionate young girl wants more than snuggles on the couch. Ok, that's not true, she'd really love to get her treats first, and then snuggles on the couch!
Penny's crate-trained, housebroken, and good on the leash as long as she's not with her sister! She loves her toys, swimming and splashing in any kind of water, chasing frogs and squirrels, and exploring new places with her family. She's full of character and is going to bring immeasurable joy and fun to the lucky people who adopt her!

Home checks used to be done in person but lately we do a zoom walk through of the home, checking especially the backyard and crate set up
Meet the Pet
If the dog is here in Canada they can do a meet and greet to finalize that they are in fact who they say they are and a good match
Approve Application

Sign Adoption Contract
We would send the adoption contract which they would fill out and send back.
