My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Aslan, a gentle giant who was surrendered into our care due to circumstances beyond his control. This handsome boy has a luscious coat of fur that will need regular grooming to keep him looking and feeling his best.

Aslan can be a bit nervous in new situations, but with patience and plenty of affection, he is sure to come out of his shell and show his true, loving nature. At this time, we aren't sure how he would do with other pets, so a calm and quiet environment might be best for him as he adjusts to a new home.

If you're looking for a sweet companion who needs a little extra love and understanding, Aslan would be a wonderful addition to your family.

As Aslan is happy in a foster home, appointments will be required to meet him.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
