My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a soft snuggly boy to join you on all your fun adventures? Diesel is a sweet and loving boy who's looking for a patient forever home that can help show him the world in a slow and safe way! Though he can be a little timid at first, once he warms up, Diesel becomes a total cuddle bug who adores getting scratches and attention. As a young dog, he's still learning how to walk on a leash, so his new family will need to continue his training using positive reinforcement, or even some classes with an Animal Kind trainer. He will need some ongoing training so he can catch up on the skills he hasn't had a chance to learn. The world can be a big place sometimes for a little pup like him and continued work on building his confidence will be key.

He would do best in a home with older or dog savvy children as he's still quite bouncy and doesn't know his own strength. Diesel previously lived with other dogs and could do well with a patient canine friend who's willing to share their space. He is looking for a someone to be his rock and show him how fun new adventures can be. If you're looking for a loyal and affectionate companion, Diesel might be the perfect fit!

Diesel is looking for a local home as he is still awaiting his neuter surgery.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
