My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My Foster Writes:
Do you want a dog that looks like a puppy forever? At just 30lbs, this sweet little girl is full to the brim of love! We get stopped by so many people wanting to meet this cute 5 year old "puppy". While she was found all skin and bones tied to a pole, you would never have a clue about her sad past. She wants allll the attention and is always ready to cuddle and give kisses. She is equal parts explorer and homebody, often found snoozing on the couch (and falling off of it in a deep slumber!) when not adventuring on walks. She has been great on our strolls-she is not reactive to other dogs, greeting one calmly and happily through a fence, and hasn't been phased by the chaos of the city. She is very food motivated and is a smart and curious girl, which has helped her quickly learn "sit", "paw", "lay down", "no", and "here" to pay attention to you on walks. She is still learning to greet people and accept affection calmly-disengaging or using a toy to redirect her enthusiasm has helped. She was not a fan of her crate, but she has been great when left out in the apartment alone for hours. She has been good about doing her business quickly outside after just a few days to settle in and hasn't barked at any sounds or visitors. This sweet girl is so ready for a family of her own to love. Minxy is currently located in West Village and would love to meet you!

What my friends at ACC say about me:

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me.

I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles!

I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me.

A volunteer writes: Minxy is one cool little dog. She loves to be out and about on our walks but is never too busy to stop and give kisses and cuddles! I found her curled up sleeping sweetly in her kennel today until she sat up with doe eyes for a treat. She is such a sweet little girl in a great compact size! She seems like she could make a good running companion as she's ready to go but isn't too strong- she's truly a blast. She is sure to make someone so happy with her kindness and curiosity. I genuinely don't know how she's still here!
