My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sam is the most unique looking pup, he name stands for Short Adorable Mutt. It was love at first sight when we pulled him from Randolph animal shelter. He has the body of a basset hound and the head of a pitbull. He definitely has that hound bark which is so cute and he only barks to alert us of anything unusual. He is definitely a very large lap dog. He wants to be as close to you as he can possibly get. He is completely house trained and does well in his crate. He is not destructive except…he is a digger. He is also an escape artist if given the opportunity. He does however come back when he is done with what HE wants to do. He doesn’t seem to care about my cats but will give chase if they run or move quickly so I would not trust him alone with them. Although he gets along with most dogs, he is dog selective and extremely alpha so wish him to be with a one and only or tested with the other dog that would be in his home. He has been totally vetted and microchipped. He truly is a great dog, full of love to give. To apply for him please visit STFFAR.org for a online application

More about this rescue

We are a small rescue started in May 2012 by two sisters. We started working with a local high kill shelter in hopes of saving animals from the gas chamber and placing them in loving homes.

Our goal is to make sure that none of our rescued pets end back in the shelter or have unwanted litters, so we maintain a strict policy that our rescued pets are spayed and neutered and deemed healthy before going into their furever homes.

We are totally non-profit and any leftover donations go into saving our next pet.
