Meet Spike and Slater! Slater, an English Spot bunny was found dumped in a cage outside. He bonded to his foster brother Spike, a fluffy Jersey Wooly. They are very sweet and will warm up and flop when they're comfortable.
Spike is friendly and loves to be petted and brushed. Slater is a bit more reserved and warms up to being petted after a while. They are super loving and inquisitive.
Spike needs to be brushed regularly and an occasional trim on his backend to prevent matting. He's very good about it though.
They are a very sweet pair who will bring you lots of joy. Message us to meet them!
About bunnies:
First time rabbit adopter? We can send you information about housing and care. You should also know:
- They are NOT starter pets. They need (indoor) space and attention like a small dog would. They need hay, pellets and greens daily. And any health issues (not eating, etc.) require immediate attention.
- Because bunnies are fragile, startle easily, and usually don't want to be handled, they are not a good fit for small kids.
- They can be somewhat skittish but they are also fun. If patient and understand that bunnies get comfortable with people on their own terms, you'll make a bunny friend. Spending time on the floor with them and offering treats is a great way to bond with them.
- Bunnies MUST be housed indoors. RHDV-2, a highly contagious and fatal wild rabbit disease in now in Florida and transmitted in the ground. Domestic rabbits cannot tolerate the heat. They also need to be safe from predators and parasites like ear mites. They will be much happier being a part of the family, inside.
