My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet boy Elijah is a happy ball of energy that is sure to please a lucky person looking for a four legged companion to tackle life's adventures. A hike? you bet. A run? you bet. Some hard, rough and tumble play with another four legged friend? Game on! Daily walks? A must. As energetic as he is, he's also a lover boy and loves human attention. He'll make the right person very, very happy as he'll be a loyal companion in whatever you're doing. Elijah once had a human companion of his own but his person needed to move away and couldn't take him along so we promised to find him the most wonderful home where he will live his best life to the absolute fullest. Elijah is up to date with vaccinations, neutered and micro-chipped. His weight is around 45-50 lbs and his estimated birth date is 09/14/22. If you'd like to give this sweet boy a home, please email us for an application at adoptions@smilingdogfarms.org

Please note we are always in need of foster homes for our dogs, Marissa included. If interested in making a difference in a dog's life, we would love to share with you what it means to be a foster parent. Foster homes greatly increase the chances of speedier adoptions and you'd be making a huge, positive difference in the life of an animal who needs you.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We are dedicated to ensuring that our dogs go to a "forever" loving, nurturing home. As a result, our process is stringent, requiring an application, home visit, vet and reference checks and an adoption contract. We want the adoption to be a match made in heaven for both the new adoptive parents and the adopted dog.

Go meet their pets

We provide adoption opportunities for those living in the Northeast who are willing to do long distance adoptions. Many of our dogs live in Wharton, Texas but we have very safe, reliable transport to the Northeast.

More about this rescue

Smiling Dog Farms is a 501(c) non-profit animal rescue. We strive to restore hope to the forgotten, neglected and rejected unwanted dogs and puppies rescued from the streets and local kill-shelters. Each dog that enters our rescue receives their full round of vaccinations, gets spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and placed on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. Many of our dogs live in Wharton Texas, but we have very safe, reliable transport to the Northeast.
