Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi humans, Zelda here. I'm on a quest to find my forever family. I'm a young love bug who can be a little shy around new people, but I warm up quickly, especially if you're down to play fetch and other games with me. I've lived with other dogs and young kids before, and I've thrived in that kind of pack. If a playful princess like me sounds like a good addition to your family, I can't wait to meet you!
A team member says, "Zelda is the sweetest pup. She has a unique brindle coat and soulful eyes that make her a cutie, but her personality is what really shines. She's a shy gal at first, but we spent time in her room working on commands and just hanging out. She knows 'sit,' and we're working on 'paw.' She's very treat-motivated and was very patient and calm, and she eventually sat beside me for extra pets. I know she'll blossom once she finds a forever family who can give her lots of love and encouragement."

More about this shelter
Founded in 1965, Animal Humane New Mexico is the state’s leading private 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal welfare organization serving more than 10,000 homeless and at-risk dogs & cats each year. We never euthanize based on age or length of stay and since 2010, have re-homed 100% of healthy pets in our care. We support every companion animal at Animal Humane with outstanding veterinary, social and emotional care, and love.
As a private nonprofit shelter, we receive no city, state or federal funding; each dollar judiciously spent is earned or raised. We are nationally recognized as a top U.S. charity based on financial accountability, transparency, and administrative-to-program cost ratios. Animal Humane is among only 9 percent of nationwide charities to have received five consecutive annual four-star evaluations, the highest possible, from Charity Navigator, including a top score of 100 for accountability and transparency.
