My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pluto is a 2-3 year old, 84 lb lab mix. His muted brindle markings are adorable and lead us to guess he is probably mixed with Plott hound. He has been good with other dogs, kids and a cat we introduced him to. He walks well on a leash and appears to be at least partially if not fully house trained and only goes in the outdoor section of his kennel occasionally and never the indoors section. Pluto is a medium energy dog that likes a good romp but also settles down for some pets. He would make a wonderful addition to your family. He will be fully vetted 11/4/24. He is on antibiotics for ehrlichia (a common and easily treated tick borne illness).

Our Mission
The purposes of this organization are to:
Oppose inhumane treatment of animals.
Improve the quality of life for animals impounded by the government of Owen County, Kentucky.
Advance spay and neuter programs as a long-term solution to the problem of unwanted pets.
Educate residents on responsible and humane treatment of animals.
Facilitate, promote, and arrange for the adoption of impounded animals by responsible owners with suitable homes.
Furthermore, underlying these purposes is the ultimate goal of minimizing and eventually eliminating euthanasia of Owen County animals just because they are homeless.
