More about this shelter

The Tehama County Animal Care Center provides animal sheltering services for all of Tehama and Glenn Counties. We house and care for stray dogs, surrendered cats, and various other species. Adopt a new pet here!

The Tehama County Animal Care Center is owned by Tehama County and operated by the Department of Agriculture, Division of Animal Services.

Our mission is to practice and promote compassionate care of all animals, both in our care and in the community we serve.

We strive to reunite lost animals with their owners and find forever homes for animals whose owners cannot be located. We work closely with several rescues to transfer some of our animals to other locations so they can find homes in other areas. We are extremely proud of our high rate live release rate and incredibly grateful to the organizations and volunteers who make it possible!
