My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Max, an energetic and lovable Shih Tzu/Toy Poodle mix with a zest for life! Max is happiest when he’s running around in a secure yard, snuggling up for cozy cuddles, or savoring his favorite treats. With his bright personality and playful spirit, he’s sure to keep his new family entertained and loved. Max`s perfect home would be with people who have time to spend with him, taking him on long, enjoyable walks and giving him the secure outdoor space he needs to play freely. Max can’t wait to find his forever family who’ll share his enthusiasm for fun and companionship!

Max`s adoption fee includes his neuter, microchip, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm test (if over 9 months old), and kept up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

If you are interested in adopting Max, you can fill out an application at www.tlchs.org or you are welcome to make a Match Making appointment to come out and meet him first. We are open Tuesday – Sunday 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Go meet their pets

We do adoptions on the square in Dahlonega most weekends, attend various local events, have annual fundraisers, and our animals can be seen at the shelter any day from 10:00 - 4:30 (an hour for lunch from 12:00-1:00). Come by and see the new changes at the shelter as well, ask to volunteer, or just introduce yourself and meet the wonderful staff members.

More about this shelter

Established in 1977, TLC is one of the oldest no-kill shelters in North Georgia. Our shelter is on about six acres near the Lumpkin County shelter, and about five miles east of Dahlonega. Our focus is saving as many homeless pets as we can, and preventing the birth of unwanted pets. We have always relied on private donations to care for as many animals as we can.
