My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Camille is a very sweet 2 year old girl who is 53 pounds (vet says full grown but 5-8lbs underweight). She is looking for a home that wants a dog to snuggle on the couch or bed with. She’s not interested in fetch or playing but loves watching tv and chillin. If you’re looking for a low energy large dog that’s happy to go for walks but just as happy to sit on the couch all day Camille is your girl! She is nervous but doesn’t bark or have separation anxiety. She will happily stay home for 10 hours while you work and run errands. Currently she only needs to potty twice a day. Would be great with a cat and is good with dogs but won’t be a play partner for a dog.

Her dna results say Great Pyrenees, but her build and coat are closer to that of a golden retriever (1) she is full grown at 60 pounds; (2) she does not have a double coat; and (3) she looks and feels a lot more like a Golden or a mini Great Pyrenees.

Camille is great in a kennel and on leash (she's happy to go on as long or short of walks as you'd like)!  She is a little squirrelly at first but as long as you’re confident she is happy to trot right along side you.

She is potty trained meaning she understands “go potty” but needs you to walk outside with her and tell her to potty. She can use a dog door but won’t use it on her own currently. She does great out in the house while you’re gone as long as she has gone potty.

Please call or text us at 760-485-2803 to learn more about Camille or to schedule a time to meet this lovely girl.

Additional adoption info

Since we closely interact with our rescues via intimate foster environments, we feel that adoptive families are able to learn more about each rescue (than rescues who are in larger facilities and unable to show their true personalities). We so ENJOY the process of introducing our rescues to their new families knowing that we have done all we can to make a GREAT match!

More about this rescue

Happy Days Animal Haven is a foster based 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue based in the beautiful Coachella Valley. While our rescue began with dogs and cats, we saw the need for the rescue of exotic animals and, as such, our main focus is upon the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of exotic animals such as house rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles, miniature pigs, etc.

Our wonderful rescues are provided with healthy diets tailored to their specific dietary requirements (such as daily fresh greens, fresh hay and good quality pellets for the rabbits and miniature pigs, fresh greens and proper pellets for birds, etc.), as well as daily emotional enrichment and socialization. We also have an established team of volunteers and veterinarians who are experienced in the rescue and care of these wonderful exotic animals.

While our focus is rescuing abandoned animals, we are also committed to educating those who adopt from us (as well as the general public) on how to best care for and enrich the lives of all pets. In this regard, we: (1) offer guidance on how to best acclimate a new pet to his/her new family and home environment; (2) provide direction for housing -- emphasizing that dogs/cats have VERY different needs than exotic pets such as birds, house rabbits and miniature pigs, etc.; (3) share our many contacts and resources that have been developed through our rescue including veterinary care (whether for dogs and cats or an avian/exotics veterinarian for birds, house rabbits, miniature pigs, etc.), animal enrichment, animal behavior, etc..
To further assist the families of all animals (with an emphasis on exotic animals), we also offer boarding with experienced caregivers, the proceeds of which go toward supporting our rescue efforts.

Thank you for taking a moment to learn about our rescue and, if you wish to support our efforts, your tax deductible donations are VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!

Sincerely,

Laura Days, Founder / President
