Benny is a 6-7yo mystery breed!
This silly, curious and affectionate guy is 55lbs, but stocky and just over knee height. He may look like a Cane Corso in photos, but his size and shape is closer to an American Bulldog, and his personality is more like a frenchie!
Benny can be vocal in stressful situations, but at home is content to nap or sniff around the yard. Je is crate trained, and doesn't mind if contractors or visitors pop in the house when he is crated. He is generally quiet and happy to be involved in any adventure.
Outside, Benny loves to sniff, explore and mark his territory! He will pull on leash a bit to sniff, but gives up easily when he realizes it doesn't work. He doesn't mind the free-roaming chickens on his foster homes property at all, and ignores them outside. During his cat test, Benny seemed cautious and avoidant of cats.
Benny is currently living with 4 other dogs, although he's been recovering from kennel cough and hasn't interacted with them much. He tends to be neutral around lower energy passive dogs, but can fixate on tense or anxious dogs. Proper and slow introductions would be best for Benny with other dogs. He would not enjoy a busy dog park setting.
Benny has only been in his intake home for a short time and we're still getting to know him. He will be going to his foster home in early November once he's recovered from kennel cough and we will know more about him then.
Benny's first impressions:
-Best with proper introductions to other dogs
- Good with cats
-Good with kids
- Good in crate
-Good in car
- Leash skills: needs some work
- Very food motivated
-Takes treats/food gently
- Not much training drive, would benefit from daily practice
-Sweet/affectionate
-Medium energy- curious but also likes to nap
