Barklava is an adorable 2-year old male Beagle who was brought to the HSOV on October 30, 2024 after he was picked up on Lois Street in Belpre Ohio by the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden. Barklava was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped.
This good-looking Beagle boy has a black/brown/white short smooth coat with brown ticking on his legs, a long tail, and a beautiful face with expressive brown eyes, a splash of white on his muzzle, and magnificent brown velvet ears which frame his face.
Barklava has a gentle, easygoing personality and the wonderful disposition for which the Beagle breed is known.
These photos were taken shortly after Barklava entered our shelter, and he happily pranced outdoors with HSOV Shelter Manager Tracy Lynn. Barklava was a natural for the camera lens and was captivated each time he heard the click of shutter button .. And he posed like a "pro".
Barklava weighs 27.4 lbs and walked fairly well on a leash.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Barklava will be held for three days so that his family will have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership. Surely someone is frantically searching for this sweet little guy!
Barklava has found his 'Beagle voice' and is very talkative after being in the shelter for a few days. Barklava is most likely expressing his displeasure with being 'behind bars' and this is his way of communicating.
