Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hayley is a 7-month-old female that came in as a stray on 11/01. The finder noted on 11/01 that she "seems to be afraid and barks when near strangers, animals, and children."
Behavioral:
Per volunteer 11/7: Haley was an absolute sweetie! A bit shy, but she loves affection and petting. Very calm and easy on the leash. Lovely girl.
11/5 Day Trip notes: I took Hayley out on a day trip and she was completely calm and never barked once at any stranger or another dog or kid.
She actually was very friendly with other dogs we came across as well as people.
She is perfect on leash. Never pulled once. Despite being a puppy she acts like a mature dog which says that she is very smart. She loved belly rubs and snacks
BEHAVIOR EVALUATION 11/02: Hayley
"KNOWN HISTORY:
Stray
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Hayley was in her crate in the back and had hard eyes and did some lip licks. She came up to sniff the handler's hand but saw the leash and retreated.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls minimally
HANDLING:
In the room, Hayley hid under the desk and took some treats slowly but did not want to come out. She gave some cute hand kisses and leaned against the handler for comfort. She allowed all handling once it was slow and with some food as a reward. She is still very nervous and timid, choosing to be held and hiding in the arms of someone or alone hiding her face in the corner. Otherwise a very sweet girl !!!
