My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pegasus is a beautiful and affectionate girl! She has a super fluffy tail and pantaloons and she's not afraid to show them off! She is very social and loves to be close to people and will cry if she is left by herself. Her fur is exceptionally soft, and she enjoys being petted all over. Her calm laid back demeanor combined with her beauty makes her the purrfect companion. She would do well as an only cat in a home or with another calm cat or dog. We aren't sure how she is with children but would probably do well with older kids considering her personality.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Please see our website: www.catscradleva.org for a copy of our adoption application and adoption contract. Adoption fees vary, but generally run around $135.

All our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption, and fully vetted. We have an adoption center in Harrisonburg, but we also make extensive use of foster homes until adoption.

We generally prefer indoor only homes, and our contract specifies that the cat(s) will not be de-clawed.

We have some cats that cannot be adopted into an indoor situation. For these, we seek safe barn or out-building locations.

Go meet their pets

We show our cats at PetSmart in Springfield, VA on most 1st and 3rd Saturdays, at the PetSmart in Harrisonburg, VA on some Saturdays and some Sunday afternoons, and at the Petsmart in Waynesboro on Saturdays. We also show cats at our adoption center at 124 S Main St. in Harrisonburg 11-6 M-F, and 11-5 Sat and 11-4 Sunday.

Please visit our website: www.catscradleva.org for other adoption events and hours for showings or call the adoption center at 540-433-1135.

More about this rescue

Founded in 1998, Cat’s Cradle seeks to end euthanasia of healthy adoptable cats and dogs in Shenandoah Valley through aggressive spay/neuter of owned animals and TNR (trap/neuter/release) of feral cats.

We also have a network of foster parents and an active adoption program for cats. In 2009 we opened an adoption center in Harrisonburg. We do not euthanize for space.

Please visit our website at: www.catscradleva.org for more information.
