Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.

A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families. 

Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.

What kind of home would be best for me? Crystal Gucci requires an experienced dog owner. Crystal is beautiful girl with a strong personality. She would thrive best in a home as an only dog. However, in an environment where she can be the leader, or has a companion that doesn't mind her opinions she can thrive with one other dog. Crystal would not be suitable for small dogs or cats. Her family would have to be big dogs. Crystal is not a fan of huge parties. Dog Parks would not be her favorite, but the backyard with no more than three other dogs Crystal will have blast running around and romping with friends. Crystal is looking for adventure and training. She is looking for a job, be it protecting the yard from loud bird and quiet horses, or if that is just being your riding buddy to the post office. Crystal is looking for engagement, and a spice to life.

Crystal is looking for a family with children over the age of 15. Crystal is a loving companion and a very sweet girl, she is just big! She loves to give big hugs, we have taught her to sit before jumping up but sometimes she just can't help herself. She is so ready to show you she has a lot of love to give! Crystal is very smart in a home with consistency she will stop jumping up if that is your desire. She has learned what caregivers find it okay and those who would rather pet her with all feet on the ground. She is a highly intelligent dog that understands her boundaries.  

What is my personality like? Crystal Gucci is strong-willed, opinionated, and determined; traits that make her an engaging companion. But don’t let her smart side fool you; she’s also a devoted love bug who thrives on affection and attention. With the right guidance and patience, she will blossom into a wonderful pet.

Meet Crystal Gucci, a beautiful and friendly three-year-old big white standard poodle mix with a big heart and an even bigger spirit who is destined to be your next best friend! When it comes to everything in life, she will let you know her likes and dislikes. She is discerning when it comes to her canine friends.

Crystal Gucci walks exceptionally well on a leash and knows how to sit on command. She knows how to shake and will roll over for belly pats. She understands not to jump up unless asked. With a little time and positive reinforcement, we know she will quickly learn other basic queues like come, stay and down. Crystal Gucci LOVES car rides but be sure to give her enough room to stick her head out the window. She likes to pretend she’s biting the cars that go by.

How do I act when I first meet new people? When it comes to meeting new people, Crystal Gucci is a social butterfly! During a recent visit to Lowe’s, she was in her element, happily greeting everyone she encountered. With her charm and enthusiasm, she’s sure to expand your social circle and make new friends wherever you go. Crystal Gucci loves people and when introduced to new dogs with patience and space Crystal is friendly to big dogs.

Other tips and tidbits: Crystal was found as a stray so we have absolutely no history on her. We celebrate her birthday 8/22/21. 

Do you have acreage?  We've not done a DNA test, but Crystal has "herding/protecting" all over her personality. We think she'd love to live on a small farm, far away from the lights and sirens and fences and all the trappings of suburbia. She would prefer the country life where she can be free to protect what she feels like is hers. 

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.

Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
