Hi there! I'm Wicket, a gentle senior dog with a face that looks a bit like an Ewok (that's where I got my name!). My journey's been a long one, and you can see it in my soft, gray eyes. I came to the shelter with some serious mats in my fur, but they gave me a fresh haircut right away, and now I'm letting my skin heal and breathe.

I may be older, but I still enjoy short strolls where I can sniff and explore. I'm a big fan of snacks and an even bigger fan of naps-especially when there's a cozy bed involved. My favorite thing, though, is just being close to people who care about me. I'm ready to spend my golden years in a quiet, loving home where I can rest and snore peacefully. Could that be with you?

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
