Buffalo is an absolute sweetheart! This active girl thrives on adventure and needs an equally active owner who can keep up with her energy and take her out to experience the world she deserves.
Buffalo is a quick learner who walks beautifully on a leash. She waits calmly before crossing roads (with the help of some treats—her favorite!).
She’s ready to find her forever home with someone who can share a lifetime of outdoor fun and love.
Buffalo is eligible for rescue, foster and adoption. Head to ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering her!

Per day trip 11/9: Buffalo was just the sweetest today! A great day to get out and see the fall colors. Today we hiked through Wissahickon and he seemed to love trotting through the leaves and taking in all the new smells and sights. Buffalo needs an active owner with an active lifestyle who can run with him and take him out to see the world he deserves to see.
Walked so well on a leash, we learned to wait calmly before crossing roads and passing hikers (treats may have been involved- he loves them)
A gorgeous pup, in and out!
Per staff 11/5 Did well for his dog meet but reactive (alert barking and pulling) from afar. Attempted to mount the other dog repeatedly, but responded well to correction.
Per staff 11/2:
BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: Buffalo
KNOWN HISTORY:
Stray
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Buffalo was standing near the door of his kennel when I approached. He jumped up on the door when I called him with semi soft eyes, and sniffed me and the leash curiously. He got down when the door was opened, and was easy to leash. He came right out once secured.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls minimally
HANDLING:
Buffalo was anxious during his eval. He paced around in circles, panting for several minutes, and was a little mouthy with handling. He allowed all handling with some time, but he is a little flinchy at first, and will cower away from touch. Buffalo prefers to start with face on interactions (scared of reaching over his head though), and then move on to body pets. When I pet his body first he would head whip around and try to mouth my hand. When I started with face on head pets he allowed all over body pets without issue. He does get overstimulated with too much booty scratches; he will lean into them happily, and then once he gets overstimulated he will head whip around.I learned that his favorite toy is a tennis ball, and he will chase the ball around pawing at it. He allowed me to take the ball from right in front of him without issue. When I ran around to see if he would play, Buffalo got scared and alert barked at me. I stopped and he jumped up on me with neutral eyes, and got down quickly. He didn't appreciate all of the fast movement! Overall, Buffalo has some husky tendencies around handling, but with a little time and trust he opens up.
PLAY
When I ran around the room Buffalo alert barked at me and jumped up on me, but never escalated.
TOYS:
