My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Blancas was brought in by her previous owner on October 30, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Blancas! This lovely lady is seeking a gentle, understanding companion who recognizes that she may need a little time and patience before her true personality shines through. With new faces and unfamiliar surroundings, Blancas can be a bit timid. Confinement will be key to helping her settle into her new home, giving her a sense of security while her confidence builds. Blancas would thrive in a calm, predictable environment where she can decompress at her own pace. A quiet room with cozy hiding spots will help her feel comfortable while she slowly adapts to her new surroundings. When she feels ready, you'll start to see her unique, sparkling personality come to light. We've already started to see her sweet side and she loves to be pet! Her new family should bring a secure cat carrier when they come to adopt, as it will make the transition smoother for her. Blancas is ready to meet that special someone who understands her pace and can give her the chance to feel truly at home.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
