Meet Princess, a two year old pretty brown and white resident of our shelter. She's a little shy, preferring quiet corners over bustling crowds. But don't mistake her shyness for indifference. Princess is full of love, waiting for the right person to share it with. She's always eager to learn new things, showing a curiosity that's both endearing and promising. Being a shy dog, we will have a behavioral and training consult to help you ease Princess into the transition of a new environment. Adopt Princess, and you'll not only gain a loyal friend, but also the chance to show her the world beyond the shelter, a world filled with love, warmth, and endless possibilities.

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.
