Please go to our website at www.milehighlabmission.com to find out more about this pet and to submit an adoption application.
Please DO NOT call or email us; all information about current dogs available, adoption donations, vetting, and this specific dog are on our website.
We are a non-profit organization and we are completely 100% volunteer run.
We DO NOT have a shelter and only approved applicants can make appointments with our foster homes to meet the dogs we have.
Our volunteers will not discuss dogs we have available for adoption UNTIL you have an application on file and are approved to adopt.
General Notes | Looking for cuddly and sweet? Gary can’t be beat! This guy is like winning the puppy lotto - he’s smart, self aware and LOVES to be near his people. He's happiest in his foster parent's arms, or curled up in their laps!
Gary is great with all sizes of dogs (from his chihuahua foster sister to his big lab foster brother, he loves them all). Gary has also met and done well with cats, kids, and all types of people. Gary is respectful but playful with his foster siblings (following their lead and listening to their cues) and is doing great with training.
Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.
Personality | Gary is laid back, curious and inquisitive, and so, so sweet. He's a pocket pal, and will make a great adventure buddy one day - whether that's hanging at breweries or hiking 14ers!
Story | Gary, his mom, and his seven siblings were rescued from the streets in Texas. They made their way to Colorado by van, and are now 10 weeks old and ready for adoption! The finder loved mama so much he decided to keep her
Other Dogs | Gary does exceptionally well with other dogs - he follows their lead and will play if encouraged to, but respects their boundaries, and keeps his distance if they don't want to engage. He LOVES his big lab foster brother, and follows him around the house! He is also sweet with the two small dogs in his foster home, sneaking close to them when they allow it.
Cats | Gary has met the cat, and is curious, but gives space. His fosters think he'd do great with a kitty friend.
Children | Gary LOVES tiny humans! He'd be happy to have one (or a few) kiddos to play and chase and snuggle with. He's gentle with his mouth (no land shark here!!) and is learning not to jump.
Training | Gary's training is in progress. He knows sit, and is 92.736% potty trained (no accidents in his foster's home in CO!!). He is working on crate training, and is a great sleeper.
Leash | Gary isn't too sure about this whole leash walking thing yet, but is learning!
Activity Level | Moderate
Health Notes |
Thank you! |
Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $525. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog).
Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process.
Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption.
We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!
We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
