My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Maxi, a beautiful 7-year-old Husky/Border Collie mix with a heart full of love. Maxi is looking for a forever home where she can form a deep, lasting bond with her people. She is a loyal, affectionate companion who thrives on strong connections and will be by your side through thick and thin.

Maxi has a playful side too-she absolutely loves Chuck-It balls and would be thrilled to have a few in her new home for fetch sessions. After a fun playtime, she turns into a cuddle bug and will gently push her face into your leg to ask for pets. Maxi adores snuggling and will happily curl up next to you for some quiet bonding time.

Due to her sensitive nature, Maxi would do best in a calm, quiet home without children or other animals. She is happiest in an environment where she can relax and enjoy quality time with her humans. Maxi's perfect family is one that understands her need for space and is ready to give her the love and attention she deserves.

If you're looking for a devoted, loving dog who enjoys both play and snuggles, Maxi is the one for you!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
