My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Rocky & Twix - the dynamic GP duo!

Rocky and Twix are our newest GP's on the block, and they're the coolest! Yup, the coolest 😎

These brothers are super chill, wildly social, enjoy being held, and happily accept gentle head pets. They're curious in nature, up for all the GP adventures, and have the funniest lil' personalities!

Rocky is really outgoing and is usually all up in your business. For example, if you happen to walk by, you better believe Rocky has his eyes on you and you shalt not forget to treat this boy. He ain't playing about his snacks. #foodie

Twix is smart, sweet, and GPs like a boss. He let's Rocky do the work, and happily accepts the rewards 😆 His motto is work smarter not harder. What a guy!

These boys are pros at finding dried strawberries in their timothy snuffle mat, and are pretty agile for GPs - it's not unusual to find one of them perched on top of a hidey hut surveying the Centre for potential snack bringers!

More about this shelter

See our website at www.spca.bc.ca/PowellRiver for all of our current information.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
