Bella is a sweet and spirited 9-year-old girl looking for a new forever home. Her owner struggled with addiction and homelessness, and sadly, passed away. Since then, members of her owner's family have been trying to care for Bella, but they have a cat and dog, and she needs to be the only pet in a home. As a result, they have made the difficult decision to try to find a family who can provide the type of environment that Bella needs to thrive. Might it be you?
Bella is a loving companion who enjoys spending time outdoors, especially at the beach and on hikes. She can be calm and affectionate, particularly when her environment is peaceful. Bella is friendly towards visitors in her current home.
While Bella is a very sweet girl, she does have some behavioral challenges:
* She has displayed aggressive tendencies when excited, especially around toys or treats, and is not good with cats. We believe she would thrive in a home without other pets.
* Bella can be protective of her food and space. Her current guardians are actively working on this, and while she can be redirected, she may nip if startled or if she feels threatened.
Ideal Home:
Bella would do best in a calm, pet-free environment where she can feel secure and loved. With a bit of patience and understanding, she has the potential to be a wonderful companion.
Bella's current daily routine:
Morning: Let out of her crate for bathroom break and breakfast (separated from other pets).
Throughout the day: Supervised time outside with the other dog and regular breaks.
Evening: Calm family time, monitored closely, with a muzzle for safety during interactions.
