Hi there! My name is Night Mara, and I'm a spunky 6-month-old American Shelter Dog mix with a heart full of love and a tail that wags nonstop. I'm a social butterfly who thrives on attention and loves showering my humans with kisses. I'm also a quick learner, already mastering the art of sitting for treats!

But here's the thing: I'm still a puppy, and that means I have boundless energy and a playful spirit that can sometimes lead to jumpy greetings and enthusiastic zoomies. I'm eager to please and learn, but I need a patient and active home that can provide me with the training, mental stimulation, and physical exercise I crave.

For In-Person Adoptions at the Shelter, visit during open hours. For pets in foster care, apply on that pet at www.multcopets.org

Meet the Pet

At the shelter, adopters will be able to meet a maximum of three (3) pets per visit, with ten (10) minutes per pet.

3.
Take the Pet Home

Adoptions are conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Adoptions will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Adopters will not be able to submit applications to adopt animals in advance, or place adoption holds on animals.

Adopters will be able to meet a maximum of three (3) pets per visit, with ten (10) minutes per pet.
We will be unable to assist with pet-to-pet meets. Please keep your furry friends at home, adoptable pets will not be able to meet resident pets at the shelter.
Prepare enough time for your visit. Adopters should expect that it may be up to two (2) hours at the shelter to process an adoption, including meeting pets, an adoption consultation, and waiting periods. Wait times may be significantly longer on weekends.

Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS) is the only open door shelter in Portland. We are the primary agency responsible for lost pet care, animal abuse investigations and animal rescue in Multnomah County. We also offer dog and cat licensing, lost and found pet services, and animal adoptions through our shelter in Troutdale. MCAS is a division of the Multnomah County Department of Community Services (DCS).
