Porkie is a sweet and playful companion who loves cuddling, especially snuggling up on your lap or chest for a cozy nap. Porkie is a social guy who enjoys head scratches and will jump up on your lap to keep you company. At night, he loves to sleep nearby or curl up right on you. He has a soft spot for felt toys, laser lights, and his favorite shoelace with a toy attached, which he loves to toss in the air and bring back when you throw it. With his affectionate, confident, and occasionally independent nature, Porkie would do best in an adult-only home or with older children who can respect his space when needed. He'd be a wonderful fit for a single person, a young couple, or an older family looking for a calm but playful, loving companion.

We have worked hard to make our adoption process as easy as possible. We like to think of the process in four steps: application, phone conversation, meet and greet and adoption day. We will get back to applicants within a few days even if they were not chosen.

More about this rescue

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.

Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
