Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Clarabelle, our 18 month old 38 pound cattle dog mix, has just one joke: "what's black and white and black and white and black and white? ME! Rolling down a hill!" We admit, that's a pretty good joke, and Clarabelle is obviously a funny dog. She's also an awesome dog looking for an equally awesome home.
Found stray with a broken leg, we were asked to take Clarabelle in. Initially, we thought we would have to amputate, but thanks to an awesome orthopedic surgeon and the @1510Foundation for covering Clarabelle's care in its entirety, we were able to save her leg. Clarabelle has healed beautifully and can now take long walks pain-free.
Clarabelle has been a great house guest. She's potty-trained, crate trained and quiet when left alone. Clarabelle is great on lead (although, like every dog in our life, wants to chase squirrels) but can be a little shy meeting other dogs on leash if they are exuberant. Clarabelle is very food motivated and loves learning new things. She'll thrive with someone who likes to train and who is active. Now that Clarabelle's leg is better, our girl wants to go and go. Clarabelle loves people and is friendly to everyone; we think she'd do fine with kids over 8 years old.
In general, Clarabelle is great with other dogs. We suspect she would like a slower introduction due to her shyness but once she's been introduced, she's playful and excited to be around them. Clarabelle doesn't always like to share (same) so has some toys she hogs and prefers to eat alone (also same). A dog friend who understands that about her would be just fine. We have not seen Clarabelle around cats but could do an introduction if needed.
Clarabelle is heartworm negative and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives.
What's black and white and read all over? If you've made it this far, it's Clarabelle's post! Now apply to adopt at www.stumptownstrays.org
