My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bella Babe, aptly named as she's a beautiful baby! Bella Babe is a super cuddly girl, who would love someone to open up their home and their arms for cuddles for life. Bella's original owner passed away and was surrendered to the shelter by someone in his family.

Bella is now available for adoption- you can meet her any day from 10am-6pm!

Behavior:
Per Volunteer 11/3/24:
Love this girl! She was very easy to leash and greeted me with a loose body and wagging tail. She pulls moderately on leash, but it was very manageable and with a harness would be easy. Omg sweetest angel baby in the play yard!! Came right to me, put her head in my lap, and she stayed there taking pets for a while. Took treats so gently! Very treat motivated and knows sit. Such a sweet calm lady. Very chill meeting a shepherd through the fence- wiggly and wagging the whole time. No issues going back in!

Per Staff 11/1/24:
BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: Bella Babe

KNOWN HISTORY:
Stray - owners son brought the dog in

KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Bella Babe was in a crate eating a kong and came up when called. She had dilated emi neutral semi soft eyes and sniffed the leash with some low wags and then sniffed the handler and stiffened up. She was easily leashed and once secured came right out.

LEASH SKILLS:
Pulled moderately

HANDLING:
In the yard, Bella Babe was sniffing around the yard. The handler offered her some treats which she declined and walked away. Another handler came into the yard and she greeted them slowly with a low wagging tail and neutral semi wide eyes. She gave some sweet sniffs and walked away. She allowed all handling for the most part but lip lickedand got tense when her feet were touched. With super slow handling and time and patience, she does warm up. She does occasionally tense up and stare with a very tense body but then loosens back up into a more friendly and social girl.

PLAY
No interest

TOYS:
Minimal interest

Per Staff 10/31/24:
Be careful putting things/hands over/above her head will bark at you but overall will sniff your hand , she is not food motivated
