Twix is a charming two-month-old calico kitten with a heart as sweet as her name. Rescued from the streets, Twix's journey began when she was found as a stray, wandering alone in search of warmth and companionship. With her striking patches of orange, black, and white fur, she quickly captured the hearts of those who came across her. Though a bit shy at first, Twix's gentle nature shines through as she slowly warms up to her new surroundings. With big, curious eyes and a soft purr, she is learning to trust her human friends and exploring the joys of indoor life. Twix loves to curl up in cozy spots, play with feather toys, and chase after the occasional sunbeam.
How much does it cost to adopt? Twix base adoption price is $85, with an additional refundable $50 deposit that gets you a voucher for a complimentary spay/neuter from one of our three area veterinary clinic partners: Alpena Veterinary Clinic, Switzer Veterinary Clinic, or Sunrise Veterinary Clinic. Once proof is provided that the altering surgery has occurred, you will be issued a $50 refund check.

All animals adopted from the Huron Humane Society receive a complimentary vet visit from your choice of one of our three Alpena veterinary clinic partners, as well as the peace of mind of knowing your new furry family member is up-to-date on all standard age-appropriate vaccinations and preventative treatments.

All adoptions are preceeded by a brief interview and adopters are required to sign a contract and to spay/neuter if adopting an unaltered animal. Our fee includes vaccinations, microchip, one free grooming at Paul's Pet Care Services, spay/neuter deposit, and a free exam at any the vet of your choice.

The Huron Humane Society works to care for and find permanent homes for homeless dogs and cats of Alpena County. We provide for the medical and behavioral needs of the animals in our care. We can house up to 20 dogs and 60 cats at one time. We are about 85% privately funded and not affilitated with any other organiation.
