Mari may be the sweetest kitty I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! Our family loves her to pieces and we are very heart broken that we can no longer keep her in our care.
Our family adopted Mari and few months ago and she was said to be a little under a year old. We introduced her to our other cat and our dog and she got along well with both! Unfortunately only a few weeks later she became very very sick with a terrible upper respiratory infection. After multiple vet visits we learned she had Feline Leukemia and likely has had it since she was born. Due to the nature of the disease we cannot keep her in our home with our other cat.
Cats with Feline Leukemia should live without other cats but can safely live with dogs! Cats can live long happy lives with this disease so long as they are given a good diet, live in a clean space, and visit the vet twice a year for a check in! We would love to keep in contact with her new owners to check on her health if they are up for it!
