ATDR 3590
Meet Canelo, this very handsome boy was surrendered with his brother Julian and both tested Heartworm positive. They were living in a wire kennel outdoors in the summer heat. When someone reported them outside, they were surrendered and made it just in time for the Hurricane the following day!
We are very grateful for our rescue friends that helped us rescue these boys and they will be on the road to better heath very soon. Both survived heartworm treatment and are learning to trust in their foster home. They are very bonded and would only be happy in a home together. These guys have been through a lot, so a good deal of patience will be required to win them over. They are very shy, but in time they will warm up and soak up the love and attention!

All Texas Dachshund Rescue is unable to adopt any dogs outside of the state of Texas.
All Texas Dachshund Rescue, Inc., is made up of a group of volunteers whose primary goal is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home disabled and otherwise endangered Dachshunds who have found themselves homeless for one reason or another. It is our policy that no dogs will be adopted out without first being spayed or neutered, have had all vaccines updated, are heartworm negative, are on heartworm preventative, and have had all other health issues we consider important to the pet’s life addressed that we are able.
All incoming Dachshunds will be placed in temporary foster homes, where they will be evaluated while living indoors with the foster families in a safe and nurturing home environment, until such time as they are ready to be placed in a loving, adoptive, forever home.
A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
