My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pepperoni is a beautiful 2-year old female kitty who was brought to the HSOV on April 22, 2024 by a Good Samaritan who found her in the Graysville Ohio area fending for herself.

This gorgeous little 'house panther' has a sleek black short smooth coat, a long tail, and a pretty face with golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long black whiskers.

Pepperoni was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on April 30, 2024. She weighed 6.4 lbs that day. Pepperoni was given booster vaccines on May 18, 2024.

This little sweetheart had a bit of a 'cat-i-tude' when she entered our shelter (most likely because she was frightened and confused finding herself in a small cage in an unfamiliar place with people she didn't realize were her new best friends).

Pepperoni was keeping a good secret when she entered our shelter, and it wasn't until the morning of June 12th that we learned what it was :) Pepperoni gave birth to four beautiful kittens and proudly showed off her new family when our HSOV kennel techs arrived for work that day. Her babies were given the names Banana Pepper, Black Olive, Crust, and Mushroom.

Pepperoni could be "spicy" with her people friends, but she was the best mother ever to her kittens. She raised four happy playful youngsters in a small shelter cage (and they were all spayed/neutered on September 17th and quickly found homes.)

But Pepperoni wasn't quite finished with raising kittens .. This momma kitty accepted several other orphaned kittens after her biological babies were weaned. Three of those orphans (Anchovy, Rani, and Spooky) survived and have also been weaned recently, so they will likely be spayed/neutered in November/December 2024.

Pepperoni was moved to The Jungle Room (one of our cat adoption rooms) in mid-October 2024. She will be spayed in the near future and will be ready to find a home of her very own with a special someone who will have the time/patience to let Pepperoni acclimate to her new home on her own schedule.

Update: Pepperoni was spayed on October 22, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 8.5 lbs that day.
