Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Domino Sugar is a spirited and intelligent dog with a sweet name that matches her charming personality. She was found tied to a bus stop but hasn't let her past dim her bright outlook on life. Domino thrives on mental stimulation and loves training games, eagerly soaking up new skills with the help of her favorite motivator-treats! She enjoys long walks and is already learning to perfect her right-heel position, showing her eagerness to please. Social and friendly, Domino delights in spending time with other dogs, whether it's during shelter playgroups or on pack walks with her canine companions.
This energetic girl can get a bit jumpy and mouthy when she's excited or seeking attention, but she's making great strides with the shelter's behavior and training team to improve her impulse control. Domino would thrive in a home that provides her with structure, routine, and plenty of exercise to channel her enthusiasm in positive ways. Enrichment activities, continued training, and regular walks are her favorite things and will help her flourish into the well-rounded companion she's meant to be. With her sharp mind, loving heart, and playful energy, Domino Sugar is ready to bring joy and excitement to her forever family.

More about this shelter
The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.
To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.
There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.
We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
