My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shy sweetie Chunk can't wait to say hello! This gal arrived at the shelter terrified, but quality time with our trainers and animal care team has helped her blossom. Chunk takes a minute to warm up with new people, but with treats and patience, she'll show you her true goofy personality. Her favorite times of day are snack time and pooch play time, and she would love to join a home with doggie siblings! Chunk's brother was recently adopted, and she is waiting eagerly for her turn to find her family. Can you make her dreams come true?

Chunk is enjoying a stay in a foster home! To make an appointment to meet her, call 828-761-2001 ext. 300 and leave a voicemail, or email adoptions@ashevillehumane.org.

More about this shelter

Asheville Humane Society is about hope, not heartache. As Buncombe County’s critical safety net since 1984, we are always here to save and protect every animal. We have mastered the art of saving lives within our walls and now we are going even further, helping our community’s pets and their people thrive together. We are going beyond a no-kill community to ensure that each animal has the quality of life they deserve – a life worth living.
