My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

ABRACADABRA hails from Deer Lake and came south to find her forever family. She had recently had puppies but they didn’t come into our rescue. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated including rabies and been deemed a healthy girl by the vet. She’s a loving girl who seeks attention any chance she gets. She loves to be with her foster family and will follow them around wherever they go.
ABRACADABRA is crate trained and has been sleeping quietly in it at night. She is housetrained and she’s had zero accidents in the house. She does pull a bit on her leash so would definitely benefit from leash training. Overall she has good manners and will sit for her meals and dies know the basic commands. To our knowledge she hadn’t met a cat so we’re not recommending she go to one at this time. Children should be aged 6 and up and be loving, gentle and caring towards animals.
ABRACADABRA would love an active family who will give her lots of walks, hikes and adventures. She travels well in a vehicle so she would be a great companion on those camping trips too. She loves to play with all the different dog toys in her home and especially likes to chase a ball around.
If ABRACADABRA sounds like the right fit for you then please submit an adoption application.

Additional adoption info

Dogs: $750 (as of March 2024)
Cats: $250
The adoption process involves a brief application for the pet you are interested in. We will review your application and if you appear to be a good match for the pet, we will contact you for a phone interview. If that is successful we then do a vet reference check. If all goes well we will then set up a meet and greet for you and anyone else living in the home including any resident dogs with the pet. We then ask you to go home and contemplate your decision on adopting the pet and let us know your decision within 24hrs of meeting the pet. If applicable we will then move forward with the adoption at a mutually agreed upon time.

Go meet their pets

We only set up meet and greets with our animals once an adoption application has been submitted. We do occasionally have meet and greets with our animals at Global Pet Foods in the Barrie area.

You can check out the available pets on our rescuegroups website or on our rescue Facebook page.

More about this rescue

We’re a small rescue with a big mission to save animals in our Northern communities, local Pounds and owner surrenders (under certain circumstances.) We’re located in Barrie, Ontario and we serve the area of Simcoe County and within a two hour radius of the Barrie area.
Our intakes are placed in loving foster homes until they’re assessed, vetted including vaccines, microchip and a spay/neuter (if over 6 months of age) before they leave the rescue to be adopted. Female puppies are spayed at 6 months of age and males 8 months of age.)
We’re always looking for additional foster homes as we can only do intakes if we have foster homes for them to go into.
