Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Maggie is a beautiful 5 yr. old girl weighing 33 lbs. She is a very good girl and never gets into trouble in the house. She doesn't chew or tear up anything. Although, Maggie needs to be the only pet in her home. Maggie prefers to be near her people and be petted. She would do best with a single or retired couple who can spend time with her at home and give her plenty of affection. She is not a high energy dog yet she has a lot of personality. Maggie is house, crate and dog door trained. She prefers to sleep in her crate. If you don't have a dog-door, she will try to get your attention to let her out. She knows sit, down, come, and walks nice on a leash. Maggie is a great watchdog and will let you know when anyone is approaching her territory or if she feels there is a reason to bark. Her bark is that of a large dog and is not high pitched or yippee. She will also let you know if the phone rings by singing her howl which is quite cute. She likes to watch TV and will bark at the animals on the screen. Maggie is not a fan of rain. She will go outside to potty but races back inside if it's raining. She likes to keep clean and makes sure to clean herself if she gets dirty. Even though her hair is fairly long it doesn't seem to get matted and is very soft. If you brush her a couple times a week, she stays good. She is good at the Groomers and the Vet. She jumps right into the car but she will cry softly for the first 10 minutes or so. Maggie will keep your yard free of any rodents so, no cats please. She will bark at other dogs and get a little excited when out on a walk. Care must be taken when out on walks as Maggie is unpredictable around other dogs. This is why she needs to be the only pet in her home. A secured yard is required.
Our adoption fee helps cover expenses (vaccinations, microchips, spay/neuter, food, housing) for the homeless pets we rescue. UAF does not adopt or ship outside the state of Arizona. To ensure the best fit, UAF conducts a home visit to meet other pets and verify a safe, secure yard.
If you have any questions or to adopt a dog an application must submitted. Filling out this form does not obligate you to adopt, but gives us the information needed to make sure the pet is suited to your home.
HOW TO APPLY: From Petfinder.com The fastest way to get to the adoptable dog page is to copy and then paste this link into your browser: https://unitedanimalfriends.org/adoptable-dogs/
When you are on the UAF website Select "Adoptable Dogs" and pick the dog you are interested in. To apply to adopt, go into the dog's profile, and click the gray "Apply for Adoption" button to get started.
