My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chowder had a pretty rough start to life and was found in a hole very, very sick. Rescued by Sketchy Mutts, he's now made a full recovery and is ready to win your heart!

This little guy is as sweet as it gets. Chowder is so eager to please and learn, he spends much of his day just following his humans watching what they're doing and seeing how he can "help". :)

Chowder is currently living in a foster home learning a bunch of new skills, so he'll be ready for his FOREVER FAMILY! He's working on crate training and not having accidents in the house. Chowder does get very excited for toys and sometimes needs help settling down. He LOVES to tear and rip things up, so will need proper guidance on what he can and cannot play with. He already knows sit and will wait very nicely for a treat. He is currently in a foster home with 3 dogs and 2 cats, plus a foster kitten. He's learning to be respectful of cats and to play gently with the kitten, but can hold his own with the big dogs just fine too!

This boy is CURIOUS, and likes to explore with his ENTIRE body. :) He climbs, hops, and jumps to get up (and on!) whatever he's trying to figure out. This makes for a very tired puppy at the end of the day and he'll crash like a typical tired toddler.

Chowder is a quick study, but will need a family to be patient with him while he learns. He'll require a home with other dog friends who can help him grow up to be the best dog he can be. Apply to meet this special pup today!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

If interested in any of our dogs, please submit an application of the dog you are interested in.

2.

Interview

We will reach out via a text to set up a mutually agreeable time to chat about what you are looking for and your lifestyle.

3.

Meet the Pet

We are hopeful you will connect instantly with one of our Sketchy Mutts, you might even have an opportunity to meet us out and about.

Additional adoption info

If we all agree that a current Sketchy Mutt might be a good fit, we will bring him to your home and introduce him to your dogs, cats, and human family members. If all goes well and everyone (including your animals) is in agreement, you will start a one-week (minimum) trial adoption. We want you to live day in, day out with the dog to see what it would really be like to bring him into your family. If at any point during the trial adoption you decide its not a good match, the dog goes back to his foster home.

More about this rescue

Sketchy Mutts and Underdogs is a 501c3 non-profit, all-volunteer organization, located in the Indianapolis metro area. We are dedicated to saving the lives of dogs who are at high risk of euthanasia in area shelters, due to behavioral issues, medical conditions, or overcrowding. We are primarily a foster-based organization, although we have the ability to temporarily house dogs in our facility until foster or forever homes can be found.
