My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Betty is currently in heat, and therefore won’t be available to go to her new home until 11/20. However, she is available for meets with interested adopters!

Betty is a medium-sized sweetie (approx. 40 lbs, but currently underweight) with a heart of gold. She is a little timid (but not skittish) and submissive, so she gets along well with other dogs and likes to give the 2-year-old child at her foster home little kisses. She does not jump up on people and loves kids, making her the ideal family dog with children of all ages. Her favorite pastimes include coming up to you for pets and snuggles, as well as chewing on a bone.

Betty has completely ignored the cat at her foster home and is amazing on leash. While she has absolutely no food aggression (or any sign of aggression at all), she does need to work on her counter surfing and will need a slow-feeder bowl. Her eagerness to please and high food drive will likely make training a breeze.

She has been known to be an escape artist and climb a 6ft fence if left alone and bored, so she will need to be supervised in the yard. She does prefer to stay with her people and get cuddles, so if you’re around she doesn’t have any motivation to fence jump.

Go meet their pets

Over 75% of our dogs are in foster homes along the front range. The foster will get in touch to schedule meetings for their foster dog. Meetings will happen in/near their homes since that is where the dog is the most comfortable. We do want you to bring family members (human and dog) to the meeting! Dogs who are currently at our Windsor facility will have meetings there and a volunteer will reach out to schedule those meetings with you. Please be aware that we do not place our dogs on a first come, first served basis, but rather a best-fit placement. Never fear, applications are valid for a year so if the first dog you meet isn't a good fit, we will have plenty of time to find one that is.
