My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Frannie is living in a foster home. Please submit an application from our website and/or email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to learn if you are a match!

Frannie comes to us from a shelter in Kentucky where she had been sitting for a while waiting for a home. We always get the nicest dogs from Kentucky and Frannie is no exception! This sweet middle aged lady has a great chill temperament, which was perfect for her foster home. Her canine foster brother is healing from a leg injury so needed a companion that did not want to play much, but would enjoy his company, and that is exactly how Frannie is. She really likes to be around other dogs but doesn't initiate play.
Frannie is shy at first but then really warms up! Her foster mom has babysat a 1 year old and said, "Frannie has spent lots of time with my 1 year old great nephew. She was extremely sweet with him and even let him lay on her for a snuggle."
Frannie is allowed to free roam when her foster mom is not home and does well! She has had a couple of pee accidents in the first few days but is on her way to being totally housebroken. An adopter should expect some accidents the first few days.
Frannie's favorite thing is to be out in the yard with her foster brother or on walks where she can sniff sniff sniff! Her foster mom says, "She was very timid at first, but she now enjoys pets and snuggles and sleeping in a cozy dog bed!"

We hope you will ask about Frannie soon!

Frannie's adoption fee is $250. This animal is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
