Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi! My name is Jason! My story is somewhat of a sad one. I was acquired by local police of that jurisdiction after being involved in a dog fight. I still had a collar and leash on me at the time, so the officers assumed I must've been someone's pet! They brought me to the local veterinarian office to check for a microchip... no luck. They held me there for two whole weeks, hoping I would be reclaimed... I never did. The local shelter unfortunately was a kill shelter, so they said if I were to be brought to them, I would go on the euthanasia list. Luckily, that's when HSSC was called into action! They were asked if they would be willing to save me from such a harsh fate which obviously is how I ended up here! Now that I have been given a second chance, I would love nothing more than to show what a wonderful companion I can be! I am SO sweet with people and just want all of the love and attention I can get! I am a big, strong boy, so I would probably do best with older children that can handle my energy level, but kids in my home are definitely a possibility for me! As for dogs, given my history as well as me reaction to the dogs here, I would prefer a home with no other dogs. I have a zest for life, and now that I am here, I would love nothing more than to share that with a new family I can call mine! Come meet me at the shelter! I'll be waiting! HSSC places animals on a first come, first serve basis. After an animal that is available for adoption has been met with, the animal’s name can be put on an application. Animals that are applied for must be adopted the same day or within 24 hours of the animal being placed on the adoption application. Exceptions will be made if any animal needs a medical procedure, but then will need to be adopted within 24 hours of being cleared from that procedure. HSSC reserves the right to accommodate alternate timelines for special needs/behavioral issue animals.
It is the potential adopter's responsibility to communicate with their landlord to contact HSSC for approval or to provide documentation stating permission within 24 hours of application submission.
It is also the potential adopter's responsibility to produce a current rabies certificate for their current dog(s) to conduct a dog to dog meet and greet within 24 hours of application submission.
Please call shelter for adoption pricing.
