My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Huey and Lenny are a handsome, bonded pair of playful kittens looking for their forever home together!

Huey is a smartly dressed tuxedo boy who looks a little bit like batman! This guy is a busy kitten, always in search of a good play session. He loves to sit in the window or on the cat tree and watch the birds and squirrels. Huey is starting to learn that humans are a great place to cozy up and snuggle.

Lenny is a striking black kitten who has many extra toes, giving his paws a cute mitten look! Because of this, a little extra care will be needed in making sure his claws are trimmed regularly to help prevent ingrown nails.

This sweet boy is curious and still learning to trust humans. He can be handled but does not prefer to be. Once comfortable, Lenny will cautiously come to humans for attention, food, and to play—all while purring. He will need some extra time and love to come out of his shell but has already made great progress in his foster home.

These boys are active—they love to chase each other and play together. They especially enjoy going after mouse toys, interacting with their people, trying to catch the wand toy, and engaging in serious kitten wrestling matches!

These adorable boys need humans who will spend time each day playing and snuggling with them! They are highly energetic kittens who would do best with plenty of space to run and explore.

Huey and Lenny live with their 5 siblings and love to play, run, and wrestle together! They are cautious but curious about the adult cats in their foster home. Both kittens are timid around children and would do well with older, cat-savvy children. The kittens have not been introduced to a dog.

Recently, they have been given opportunities to explore more of the house outside of their foster kitten room. Huey has confidently explored during this time, while Lenny has chosen to stay in the comfort of his familiar space for now!

Huey and Lenny's ideal home is one where their humans would be patient with them and would help them build trust in their new family. They would thrive with people who enjoy kitten shenanigans, and who work from home or are around a lot to play with them.

If you’d like to double your fun with a super-active, super-cute dynamic duo this fall, please consider adding Huey and Lenny to your family!

There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimate. Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated.

Cats are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption. Interested in adopting or learning more about this cat? Additional adoption info

Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

More about this rescue

Our Mission
Pet Haven improves the lives of pets and the people who love them by rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs and cats; reducing pet overpopulation by supporting spay and neuter efforts, and providing resources to people that help strengthen the human-animal bond.

Our Vision
A Minnesota where all pets live in safe, loving homes.

Our Values
Excellence in service and care; community; integrity; innovation; perseverance; compassion; a rewarding place to volunteer

How We Help
Spay/Neuter Initiative Program: Providing support to end pet overpopulation in Minnesota
Owner Surrender: Providing a safe haven for pet owners
Foster: Committed to finding forever homes for cats and dogs
Phoenix Fund for Special Needs: Providing veterinary care for animals in need of healing
What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.

Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.

Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.

We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.

We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
