Eloise is a 4-year-old(ish) sweet, smart, and silly, cat looking for her forever home!
This beautiful cow-cat is equal parts playful and cuddly. She can be shy at first and will need time to warm up in her new home. Once she is comfortable, she will show her silly side and will always find ways to make you laugh.
This pretty lady LOVES pom balls and will entertain herself for hours a day batting, chasing, and carrying them around. She also loves to play with wand toys and will occasionally use her tiny meows to ask you to play with her.
This busy gal also loves to explore closets and takes great pride in her ability to open all kinds of doors- she's a smart cookie! Eloise also takes great pleasure in sneaking up on her humans while they are doing distracting things like the dishes. She’s also a master of hide and seek.
As part of her daily routine, Eloise does need a decent amount of active play. She likes to run around and get her energy out. No day is complete, however, without a good cuddle session. She is a top notch snuggler and likes to make biscuits on your lap or chest, smoosh her face against yours, and be held like a baby while you read or watch tv.
Eloise is happy and healthy; she does require weekly/biweekly ear cleaning, due to a history of ear infections. A vet or vet tech would be happy to show her forever human how to do this if they are unsure.
Eloise currently lives in an apartment with one adult. Her ideal home would be on the quieter side and not have small children or energetic dogs. She is quiet about meeting new people and is skittish around fast movements and loud noises, so it would probably be best to have a home without dogs or young children.
She was not a fan of the other cats at the shelter, but she was dealing with some health/pain issues at the time. Now that she is enjoying the cozy indoor life, she may be happy to have another gentle kitty playmate.
She is pretty much a perfect girl!
There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimate. Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated.
Cats are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption. Interested in adopting or learning more about this cat? Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
