Hennessy hasn't been at the shelter long, but she has tugged on the volunteers' heartstrings and quickly become a favorite. Despite a wound and long scars down the length of her back, Hennessy is gentle and loving towards humans. Her neighbor took pity on her and brought her to us so she could have a better chance to find a home that would give her a soft bed and to show tenderness towards her. Hennessy enjoys going outside for her walks, and she especially loves to be cuddled and kissed. She would make a wonderful companion for anyone looking to share a couch and a bed with her, as she seems to be of medium energy at 5 years young. She certainly deserves to be given a new best life!
Recently Hennessy had a trip to the park with one of our volunteers! She tolerated the trip very well. She likes to ride in the car, but she was too happy and excited about the ride, so a doggie seatbelt is a must. She liked to watch what was happening outside the window with curiosity. At the park, she was happy, she likes to walk and spend a lot of time outside. Since the territory was new to her, she eagerly tried to sniff everything (the first 20 minutes we were just crossing the parking lot). She did not react to people, even if they were running or riding a bike. Other animals were of interest, in which case she would pull on the leash. She is quite strong, so the owner should be able to hold her back if she wants to "meet" another animal. Otherwise, she walks well on a leash, responds to her name, knows the command to sit. She does not bark or growl, she is quite calm. Walking with her was a great pleasure!

She is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be spayed prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times.
