My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Shoyu, the ultimate bundle of playfulness and cuddles! This little explorer is always ready for an adventure, investigating every corner with his big, curious eyes. Shoyu is super friendly with people and other animals and will be the first to greet you when you walk in the room. His playful spirit shines through when he's batting around his favorite toys-especially socks and dog toys, which he finds absolutely fascinating!

When he's not playing, Shoyu adores being close to you, and he won't hesitate to climb up your legs just to settle into your arms, chest, or even curl around your neck for a cozy snuggle. He's a joy to watch and will keep you laughing with his funny antics and sweet personality. Shoyu is truly one-of-a-kind and can't wait to find his forever family!

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
