My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ah, bonjour, mes amis! Allow me to introduce you to the pièce de résistance of dogs—Charcuterie! This delightful pup is a gourmet masterpiece, blending all the finest qualities one could desire in a companion. Charcuterie has a refined taste for the finer things in life, like lounging in a cozy bed or savoring a stroll through the neighborhood, sniffing every scent like a true connoisseur. With a personality as rich and inviting as a perfect charcuterie board, this dog is a balance of sweet, savory, and oh-so-satisfying. She will warm your heart faster than a freshly baked baguette right out of the oven!

But, mes chers, don’t think Charcuterie is all about the quiet moments—oh non, non! She has a zest for life, ready to sprinkle a little playfulness into your day like a dash of fresh herbs on a gourmet dish. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and gets along splendidly with other dogs. and cats. Charcuterie is the perfect companion to share in life’s little moments of joy, whether it's a quiet evening by the fire or a lively afternoon in the park. If you're looking for a dog that’s as charming and delightful as a French delicacy, Charcuterie is the perfect addition to your family. Bon appétit!

Additional adoption info

The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application (applicant must be at least 23 years of age). Once your application is received a volunteer will contact you to discuss your application. All references listed will be contacted, along with a call to your veterinarian to make sure your current/former pets are/were up to date on all vaccinations. We also complete a background check and home visit will be performed. Once all that is complete, and application is approved, we will arrange meet and greets with our adoptables that may be a good fit for your family and lifestyle. If a perfect match is found, an adoption contract will need to be signed, along with an adoption fee.

All of the above steps are then reviewed by the Chi-Town Pitties, Inc. Board for final approval. Once your application is approved by the Board, we will move forward with scheduling adoption interactions with potential dogs that are a good fit for you and your family.

More about this rescue

We are a small 501c3 nonprofit rescue, committed to leading with our heads rather than our hearts, to help quality dogs find quality homes.

We work closely with area shelters to get as much information as we can about the dogs we take in so we can be as prepared as possible to provide for their needs as we place them in well-matched foster homes. If you would like to join our team of fosters, expect us to have a close ongoing relationship with you as you help your pup get ready for their permanent home.

If you are looking to adopt, expect us to get to know you, too, so we can help you find the dog that will thrive best in your home situation. Like big dogs in general, pit bull type dogs tend to have big personalities, and are an athletic bunch (they even power nap). They aren’t right for every owner, but not every person should be allowed behind the wheel of a Maserati either.

Wondering if a pittie is right for you (and if you are right for them)? Talk to us!
