My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a community member on October 30, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Arizona, a charming adult dog with a heart full of sweetness and a dash of shyness. His gentle nature makes him the perfect companion for quiet evenings, his soft whimpers are a testament to his need for love and affection. Arizona's shy demeanor is not a sign of weakness, but a symbol of his patience and willingness to trust. He might take a little while to warm up to you, but once he does, he'll be your loyal friend for life. Arizona is not just a dog, he's a bundle of love waiting to be unwrapped. He's longing for a home where he can be loved, cherished, and cared for. Adopt Arizona, not because he needs you, but because you need the unconditional love he has to offer.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
