My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Carla! This 3-year-old French bulldog weighs 25 lbs. Carla is a well-behaved little lady who is looking for a loving home to grace with her presence.

  • General Behavior: This easy-going gal mostly just likes to sleep all day. If you take her out in the backyard during the day, she will most likely just lie down on the grass. She will patiently wait while her food is being prepared.

  • Likes & Dislikes: Carla loves pats, particularly scritches on her rear end. She also loves to patrol the neighborhood on walks. She’s good on leash walks but will chase lizards, birds and shadows, so be sure to keep a firm grip on the leash!

  • Training:  Carla is a good girl! She is house trained if let out regularly. She will sit and watch you eat but does not beg for human food. She sleeps in a dog bed at night, is well-behaved in the car, and generally has good basic manners.

  • Medical: Carla needs eye drops for an autoimmune affecting her eyes (granulomatous episcleritis). Her ophthalmologist does not feel she will experience any additional problems with her eyes as long as she continues getting her drops. The cost is approximately $20/month.

  • Other Animals: Carla would do well in a home with other small dogs only. She is not a fan of felines or larger dogs.

  • Children: Carla would do best in a home without children because she is fearful of them.

  • Home: She would do best in a home where she can have a fully fenced in yard to run around in.  She is still working on leash walking but it may take some more patience and time with her new forever family.

  • Grooming: Carla is short haired and does not require grooming other than baths and occasional nail clippings. Luckily, she is good at taking baths!

  • Overall: Chill Carla will make a wonderful companion for someone looking for an easy-going best friend!

Are snoozing and snacking among your interests? Do you give the best pats? Then Carla thinks you might be her new best friend! Visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with her foster family if it’s a potential match. She is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and spayed.  Her adoption donation is $400.

We are a foster-based rescue organization and do not have a facility. We have all events posted on our website each month.

More about this rescue

Poodle and Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical shelter because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,500 dogs since 2008.
