A Little Bit About Me

Tammy is a gorgeous tabby and white cat looking for her forever home! She may start out shy, but once comfortable, she is affectionate and playful. Tammy is looking for a patient guardian who will help her feel safe (and help her get to a healthy weight). Now that Tammy has adjusted to the shelter, she loves to rub on her people, pushes her head into hands with a soft purr, and has even ventured across laps. She also loves wand toy play! Tammy has been an indoor cat and lived in a calm, quiet adult home. She resided with multiple other cats and has been around cat-friendly dogs (and did well with them all). She would likely enjoy having another feline friend in her new home. Meet Tammy with a gentle voice while sitting on the floor, and bring a Churu treat and wand toy. You'll be on your way to earning her trust. Once Tammy is comfortable, she is truly a sweetheart!

More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
