My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Blanquito is an adorable ~11lb, 7 year old terrier mix who was rescued from Carson high kill shelter in CA. He was rescued along with his buddy, Taquito. Both pups ended up at the shelter with one of their puppies (family said they were moving and didn't take the dogs with them); the puppies were adopted out but these two left behind. We couldn't say no to these precious boys and they are now on their way to Seattle, arriving Sunday Oct 20th. Shelter videos show these sweet boys enjoying pets from the shelter staff, eager for affection and happy go lucky. Blanquito is noted as being the follower of the duo, and may benefit from a dog buddy in his foster home.

Foster Update:  Blanquito is a gentle little boy. His fur is SO soft and light, it's like petting a lamb. As far as we can tell, he’s low shed. He's very, very gentle and has been relatively quiet, with just occasional barks. He's getting used to the crate during the day and takes a little while to settle down, but has slept through the night in the crate with no issues.

His confidence is growing every day. He's SO eager to please and just wants to be near his people. He's doing great with house-training, just a couple accidents but generally he goes right out and does his business.  He's not super high energy and spends most of the day napping, but also happily goes out for longer walks around the neighborhood. He's easy on the leash, no pulling or barking at other dogs, and I can see him getting more confident with that everyday. He's so gentle - I think he'd do well with other pets in the home and with kids, although he's not big on playing with toys yet.  He's just the sweetest little guy.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
